Overview

A national franchise of fitness studios hired AirDev to create a fitness management system to replace its existing out-of-the-box solution. StudioBoss allows studios to manage member information and communication, class schedules, merchandise point of sale, and analytics. My primary role in this project, which was built on Bubble, was the front end developer, and I also contributed to the UI/UX design, back end development, and QA. The app is responsive down to the width of a portrait tablet.

member management

Studio members move between various stages that flag employees when memberships are up for renewal or expired. Members can purchase up to three different memberships, which are either time- or credit-based.

SCHEDULING

StudioBoss supports class, event and task scheduling including registration and payments.

POINT OF SALE

The app allows employees to sell products and event tickets while managing their inventory.

analytics

A dashboard of charts illustrates each studio’s performance on a monthly basis.

Learnings

Since this was a longer-term project than most, with a handful of stakeholders, I learned a few key skills:

1. How to break a large project down into short sprints

2. How to process and interpreting designers’ mockups

3. Task management shared between multiple parties around the world

4. How to identify and tackle isolated pieces of the back end development
